Handmade Wooden Toys For All Ages
The Toy Maker of Lunenburg designs and manufactures safe, durable, eco-friendly, Canadian made toys and games that inspire imaginations and creativity. Our toys are not only brilliant but timeless and built to last – you'll want to pass them down through generations!
Meet the Maker
We’re Elke and Ray (master craftsman), and we make toys and games on Canada’s East Coast. We are two PhD scientists who traded lab coats for wood shavings. When we bought toys for our daughter, we were disappointed to discover most wooden toys were made overseas. Using Canada’s rich lumber resources, Ray began making toys - right here at home. Today, we create small-batch toys and games for all ages, designed to spark imagination and be cherished for years.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why Buy From Us?
You are not just buying a toy—you are creating what play looks like in your home.
The kind of play you remember—before screens—when simple wooden toys meant endless ways to play.
Each purchase supports Canadian craftsmanship and locally sourced materials that keep traditions and communities thriving.
Are Your Toys Really Made In Canada?
Yes—every toy and game is made right here in Nova Scotia.
Each piece is designed, built, and finished in our workshop. Some wooden components (like wheels, pegs, dowels, and balls) are sourced elsewhere, but the toys themselves are made here in Canada.
The one exception is our return top, which is assembled and branded in Canada.
Why Do Your Toys Cost More Than Mass-Produced Toys?
Our toys are made from sustainably sourced Canadian wood. Each piece is shaped, sanded, and finished in-house—handled at every step, giving it its own character and quality you can feel.
Both lumber and labour are Canadian, so production costs differ from overseas manufacturing. We produce in small batches, without the cost advantages of large-scale manufacturing.
In turn, your purchase supports Canadian forestry, skilled craftsmanship, and local communities.
How Much Does Shipping Cost?
Shipping is $15 flat rate, with free shipping on orders over $125 within Canada.
Larger items—such as mud kitchens, balance beams, and timber boards—ship on a pallet and do not qualify for flat rate or free shipping.
Do You Offer Gift Wrapping?
Yes—gift wrapping is available for a small fee of $1.00.
As a thank you for choosing us, a handwritten note can be included with your order at no cost.
Add your message at checkout, and it will be written and included.
